ReadTrack is a time saving educational application that makes it easier for teachers to manage the reading progress of their pupils. This Privacy Policy document contains types of information that is collected and recorded by ReadTrack and how we use it.

The extent of this Policy

This policy explains how we capture, handle and use the personal details of Teachers, Parents, Pupils and other persons which we collect in any capacity. This policy also describes your data protection rights, including a right to object to some of the processing which we carry out. More information about your rights, and how to exercise them, is set out in the “What rights do I have?” section.

Retention of this personal information enables us to discharge our responsibilities and to pursue its legitimate interests as a provider of online services and to keep in touch with our users in order to keep them advised of ReadTrack activities, and service updates.

ReadTrack is committed to protecting all personal information and being open about the nature of the information which it holds. In the event that ReadTrack rely upon an individual’s consent for holding such data, such consent may be withdrawn at any time.

The terms “We”, “Your”, “ReadTrack”, “Account Data”, “Service” and “Content” all have the meaning set out in the Terms and Conditions.


This site also uses Cookies to track our audience, and provide a better user experience.  No personal data is collected.

Personal Data Collected and Held

The personal information held by ReadTrack is primarily collected through registration and ongoing usage of the Service (in the case of pupils, data may be provided on pupil’s behalf by their teacher, or their parents). The records may contain:


  • Account data (Passwords, Email addresses, Phone numbers, User agents, IP addresses) provided by the user for the purpose of authentication.
  • Profile information, such as profile picture, display name
  • Association to classes/schools
  • Application usage and tracking information

Where a user elects to use the service anonymously a Account data and Profile information is not collected. Anonymous users may not benefit from access to all services.

Information Received from Third Parties

ReadTrack may receive personal information from third parties:

  • Information regarding pupil’s reading history will be updated by parents or teachers.
  • Where a user elects to use social sign-on (e.g. facebook/google), ReadTrack will also receive basic profile information from the provider. User’s have the ability to decline to provide this during registration.
  • Where a user subscribes to a paid-for service using the iOS AppStore, Apple will provide us with information regarding subscription, but no personally identifiable information.
  • Tracking and analytics information.

Use of Personal Data

Personal Data is used by ReadTrack for:

  • Enable user authentication, and facilitate user account management
  • Provide, operate, and maintain our services
  • Improve, personalise, and expand our services
  • Understand and analyse how you use our services
  • Develop new products, services, features, and functionality our services
  • Communicate with you, either directly or through one of our partners, including for customer service, to provide you with updates and other information relating to the website and app, and for marketing and promotional purposes
  • Send you emails
  • Find and prevent fraud
  • Purposes required by law, e.g. maintenance of accounting records, compliance with the requirements of government and law enforcement authorities.

Management of Data

ReadTrack processes user data within google Firebase. Access is currently only available via the iOS application provided for that purpose. Data is be shared with, or collected by, Google Firebase services for processing as set-out below. More details can be found in the Firebase Privacy Policy:

  • Firebase Authentication – Authentication uses the data to enable end-user authentication, and facilitate end-user account management. It also uses user-agent strings and IP addresses to provide added security and prevent abuse during sign-up and authentication.
  • Firebase Crashlytics – Crashlytics uses crash stack traces to help us debug.
  • Firebase Dynamic Links – Dynamic Links uses device specs and IP addresses on iOS to open newly-installed apps to a specific page or context.
  • Firebase Performance – Performance Monitoring uses Firebase installation IDs to calculate the number of unique Firebase installations that access network resources, to ensure that access patterns are sufficiently anonymous. It also uses Firebase installation IDs with Firebase Remote Config to manage the rate of performance event reporting. Additionally, it uses IP addresses to map performance events to the countries they originate from.
  • Firebase Remote Config – Remote Config uses Firebase installation IDs to select configuration values to return to end-user devices
  • Cloud Functions for Firebase – Cloud Functions uses IP addresses to execute event-handling functions and HTTP functions based on end-user actions.
  • Google Analytics – Google Analytics uses the data to provide analytics and attribution information.

Subscription information is verified using Fovea.billing. No personally identifiable information is shared with Fovea. More details can be found in their privacy policy.

Sharing of Data

ReadTrack are committed to protecting our user’s privacy and will never share personally identifiable information with anybody. We may from time to time share aggregated or anonymised user-data with selected partners.

How long we retain your data

Collected Account Data and Content are retained indefinitely.

For users that register on our website and app, we also store the personal information they provide in their user profile. All users can see, edit, or delete their personal information at any time (except they cannot change their username). Website and app administrators can also see and edit that information.

Advertising Partners Privacy Policies

You may consult this list to find the Privacy Policy for each of the advertising partners of ReadTrack.


Third-party ad servers or ad networks uses technologies like cookies, JavaScript, or Web Beacons that are used in their respective advertisements and links that may appear on ReadTrack, which are sent directly to user’s browser. They automatically receive your IP address when this occurs. These technologies are used to measure the effectiveness of their advertising campaigns and/or to personalise the advertising content that you see on websites that you visit.

ReadTrack’s Privacy Policy does not apply to other advertisers or websites. Thus, we are advising you to consult the respective Privacy Policies of these third-party ad servers for more detailed information. It may include their practices and instructions about how to opt-out of certain options. 

You can choose to disable cookies through your individual browser options. To know more detailed information about cookie management with specific web browsers, it can be found at the browsers’ respective websites.

Note that ReadTrack has no access to or control over these cookies that are used by third-party advertisers.

Children’s Information

Another part of our priority is adding protection for children while using the internet. We encourage parents and guardians to observe, participate in, and/or monitor and guide their online activity.

ReadTrack does not knowingly collect any Personal Identifiable Information from children under the age of 13. If you think that your child provided this kind of information on our website, we strongly encourage you to contact us immediately and we will do our best efforts to promptly remove such information from our records.

Embedded content from other websites

Articles on ReadTrack website and app may include embedded content (e.g. videos, images, articles, etc.). Embedded content from other websites behaves in the exact same way as if the visitor has visited the other website.

These websites may collect data about you, use cookies, embed additional third-party tracking, and monitor your interaction with that embedded content, including tracking your interaction with the embedded content if you have an account and are logged in to that website.

What are my rights?

CCPA Privacy Rights

Under the CCPA, among other rights, California consumers have the right to:

  • Request that a business that collects a consumer’s personal data disclose the categories and specific pieces of personal data that a business has collected about consumers.
  • Request that a business delete any personal data about the consumer that a business has collected.
  • Request that a business that sells a consumer’s personal data, not sell the consumer’s personal data.
  • If you make a request, we have one month to respond to you. If you would like to exercise any of these rights, please contact us.

GDPR Data Protection Rights

Under the GDPR, among other rights, EU and UK consumers have the right to:

  • to request copies of your personal data. We may charge you a small fee for this service.
  • to request that we correct any information you believe is inaccurate. You also have the right to request that we complete the information you believe is incomplete.
  • to request that we erase your personal data, under certain conditions.
  • to request that we restrict the processing of your personal data, under certain conditions.
  • to object to our processing of your personal data, under certain conditions.
  • to request that we transfer the data that we have collected to another organisation, or directly to you, under certain conditions.
